    *This is actually the worst teacher I have ever had. In 2022, I was in her class for "Introduction to Communications" (COM1011C) at Landmark College, in Putney, Vermont. This college is for neurodivergent students with learning disabilities. Despite being an entry-level course designed to teach personal life communication to students with unique challenges, it was absolutely loaded with a vast amount of busywork. The crippling workload hurt the mental health of many already-struggling students. I myself was robbed of the desire to learn and even the desire to live because of the stress of this class. Her class was also highly politicized. We were assigned a weekly project about "solving world peace" despite it being irrelevant to the course topic. Second-semester students who know better will transfer out of her course. She has a notorious reputation as a poor professor at more than one college (also Keene State in New Hampshire). After the first month, I had a score of 100% because I obsessed over getting all my work done on time. But most of the class worked extremely hard to keep up with all the assignments and was forced to neglect my other courses (the ones I loved like Composition and also History) just to stay afloat in "Communications." Her online instructions are often unclear and confusing. Her "correct answers" to the quizzes contradict the course material. (so her tests are wrong). She significantly increased the workload soon after the final-date-to-withdraw. One day, she asked how the class was doing. After I said, "I am experiencing depression" the rest of the class said "burnout, defeat, exhaustion, etc." That week we had seven assignments in that single class alone. If allowed to continue teaching students, many more will be harmed.*

    Hi celtkeene. Thanks a lot for your video! I installed the ITCN plugin however the options shown once I try to use it are not the same as in your video. To define width and distance I can only insert by typing and not by drwaing any line; I do not have the option to set the threshold which in the end leads to couting things that are not nuclei in the picture. Do you know why this is? I am using the latest version of ImageJ for a windows 7, 64 bit. Can this be the cause? Cheers.

  • @celtkeene
    @celtkeene 12 лет назад

    I don't have a copy of the ITCN on my computer to pass along. One of the things that's important to keep in mind is that ImageJ comes in two varieties - 32 bit and 64 bit. Compatibility issues may well be related to the version of ImageJ running. My 1st step would be to investigate that. If that looked like it was working properly, I would consider using the counting feature that's built into ImageJ rather than the plug-in. It takes a little more calibration, but also works well to count cells.

  • @celtkeene
    @celtkeene 12 лет назад

    I don't know if there's a way to track color values in ImageJ... it shouldn't be too difficult, I'm just not sure how to do that. I can think of a couple of kludgy ways to get the same result, but 8mmss might be better off doing some googling rather than using my hack solution. -Matt

    I recently tried downloading the ITCN plugin from ucsb. For some strange reason the file provided on their site will not open in ImageJ. Would it be possible for you to send me the ITCN plug-in that you are showing in your video. (email mikeneuro1@gmail.com). Much appreciated!

    Could you please email the plugin you are using (send to mikeneuro1@gmail.com). The one available from the bioimage seems to be defective and will not open on my computer. I tried contacting them but got my email bounced back. In any case, i would be very grateful if you could send me the ITCN plug. Thanks

    is there a plugin or a youtube video that describes how to delineate various fluorescent labeled cells and quantify how many of each labeled cells there? For example, if I stain cells with 324nm, 488nm and 555nm, is there a plugin that i can use to accurate quantify the number of cells for each wavelength. thanx,

    @Manim3 if you've still got a color image (or 8-bit color) you might not be getting the results you'd like. Make sure that you've converted the image to only 8-bit. If that doesn't do the trick, check your settings for the ITCN plug-in. If you're still stuck, check @qcthegreat's channel
